Jelly Bean Chore Jars!
I don’t know about you, but I’m SO ready for spring. It’s finally warming up a bit and I’m finding myself organizing drawers and planning out what seeds to start growing.
When I was a child, my mom would have each of us kids earn jelly beans by completing extra chores around the house before Easter. A little competition amongst the siblings and the goal of earning a jar full of jelly beans made chores much less painful. Another benefit to this little game? Odd jobs like dusting the baseboards was happily done by her children!
What you’ll need:
A jar of some sort (with a lid)
Art supplies i.e. paint, paint brushes, stickers, glue, ribbon, paper etc
Jelly Beans
The key to this project being successful is 1) letting the kids go wild decorating their jars (they don’t have to be Pinterest worthy) and 2) making a list of chores that will help YOU out around the house. These chores were always extra jobs that needed done. Not our usual chores.
On Easter morning we were given our jars or the beans were added to our Easter Baskets!
