Elderflower Cocktail
Many of us know the benefits of elderberry syrup, but have you heard of elderFLOWER syrup? The tiny blossoms of the elderberry bushes are harvested in the spring and turned into a syrup that tastes as delicate and sweet as it looks.
I was first introduced to this dainty cordial by close family friends residing in Switzerland. Their homemade recipe calls for soaking the flowers in warm water for several days, skimming the flowers and then making syrup with water and sugar.
The syrup has grown popular in the states and can be found in local ABC stores, farmer’s markets, and online. To make your own Elderflower Syrup I highly recommend this recipe by The Spruce Eats https://www.thespruceeats.com/easy-classic-elderflower-cordial-435749 .
